Bitwise is a leader in crypto index funds and created the world’s first cryptocurrency index fund in 2017, the Bitwise 10. The firm today manages more than $1.5 billion in assets across multiple funds, serving institutions, family offices, financial advisors, and high-net worth individuals. It also launched the Bitwise Polygon (MATIC) Fund to give investors exposure to MATIC, the native cryptoasset of Polygon, through a professionally managed investment vehicle.

CoFund

CoFund aims to make institutional grade real estate investments accessible in a compliant manner. Its first property is a $10 million hotel in Bali.

Empowa

Empowa, a Mercy Corps Ventures (”MCV”) portfolio company, is a property development and NFT digital collectibles platform that aims to enable “affordable home loans for the financially excluded.” Empowa and MCV partnered to launch an affordable housing pilot project that uses retail NFT sales to create liquidity for the provision of affordable housing units.

Fasanara Digital

Fasanara Capital (a boutique alternative asset manager) launched its first crypto-native hedge fund, Fasanara Digital. Since launch, they implemented Fireblocks (a platform that manages digital assets), Fasanara has grown the size of its crypto-native fund from $20M to $100M.

Fibo Finance

Fibo tokenizes physical real estate, which it allows users to invest in. It aims to increase liquidity, access, and transparency to the largest asset class in the US, while providing opportunities for investments to investors that historically have been marginalized.

GainForest

GainForest fights deforestation by connecting donors with transparent environmental rehabilitation efforts through indigenous communities that receive financial compensation for choosing to preserve their land. For example, individuals can buy reputable offsets that contribute to conservation efforts. GainForest then monitors these preserved areas by using a combination of on-the-ground input, drone photos, and satellite imagery, and uses self-executing smart contracts to distribute rewards to communities over time. GainForest has two on-going pilots: a partnership with Paraguay's Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES) to address deforestation and the other with Oceanus Conservation in the Philippines to preserve mangrove ecosystems.

LiquidStar

LiquidStar describes itself as the “Uber of electricity;” it rents a container-based solar powered battery charging station and portable batteries to users, organizations, or companies to use for mining or staking. The rewards generated are used for (i) bringing affordable and sustainable electricity to rural communities and (ii) generating universal basic income (”UBI”). First deployments took place in the US and Jamaica, where LiquidStar supplied electricity to 1500 students at a school. Additional pilots are coming to Sumba, Indonesia and Djibouti.

Kotani Pay x Moola Market

Cinch Markets (an agriculture company that leases farmland from smallholder farmers to create larger commercial farms) partnered with Mercy Corps Ventures (”MCV”) to use Moola Markets and Kotani Pay for an employer-based lending platform that enables farmers to access credit quickly and affordably. The first pilot launched in Nanyuki, Kenya. Kotani Pay is a platform that allows blockchain fintech companies to integrate with local payment channels in Africa. Moola Markets is a blockchain platform that allows individuals to delegate credit (collateral) to others in their community, who can use it to take on an under-collateralized loans.

Pontoro

Pontoro connects institutional investors to infrastructure loan assets underwritten by large banks.

r3wild

r3wild restores, protects, and fractionalizes land in Africa to create eco-tourism wildlife reserves, protect endangered species, and uplift local communities. Each block of land is registered and verifiable on the blockchain.

Real Token Technologies (RealT)

RealT allows investors to own a part of real estate for costs as low as $50. RealT has already tokenized 200+ properties in the US worth $45+ million, ranging from single-family homes to larger multi-family apartment buildings.

Securitize

Securitize is a platform for digital securities, simplifying the process for eligible investors to manage and trade within equity, funds, fixed income, and real estate sectors. As the first blockchain-based SEC-Registered transfer agent with integration into several regulated US marketplaces, Securitize boasts a live protocol and active issuers, while also providing KYC/AML and capital management services. Hamilton Lane, a leading global investment firm with $823.9 billion of assets under management and supervision, has two funds — the Senior Credit Opportunities Fund (“SCOPE”) and the Equity Opportunities Fund V — that it’s making accessible to individual investors via a feeder fund from Securitize. The vehicles offer immediate deployment of investor’s capital with reduced minimum investments. Through a join venture, Artory and Winston Art Group launched a tokenized and diversified art fund on Securitize. This $25M closed-end Fund allows investors to gain exposure to a curated collection of physical artworks.

Silta connects DeFi and TradFi lenders with sustainability-focused developers of real-world assets. Silta uses up to 320+ data points for more efficient due diligence on real world infrastructure investments and is using DeFi to enable broader access to this market.

Solid World democratizes access to carbon project financing, providing developers of restoration projects with funding and assessing delivery risks with its integrated risk evaluation tool, CRISP. It also addresses buyer and distributor challenges, helping manage their inventory, navigate market volatility, reduce risk, and provide transparent pricing and terms.

A UNICEF Innovation Fund portfolio company, Xcapit, is a self-custodial wallet that provides access to key financial services in informal economies. For example, access to credit. In Argentina, where the initial pilot took place, 91% of applicants are rejected in traditional credit requests. Xcapit is addressing this challenge with its credit processing and lending infrastructure.
