Kotani Pay is a platform that allows blockchain fintech companies to integrate with local payment channels in Africa. It has partnicipated in a number of pilot programs, especially with Mercy Corps Ventures (”MCV”). In one of these pilots, Kotani Pay partnered with MCV, Appen (large language model — “LLM” — company), Mercy Corps Kenya, and NairoBits (a non-profit that aims to empower disadvantaged youth in Nairobi) to launch a pilot, testing whether digital stablecoins and mobile wallets can ease frictions and reduce costs in cross-border payments for low-income youth.
